A Legend

Some time ago; a remembered year,
A new life did appear.
From it rose, a Legend true;
A Legend felt at least by two.

A friendship young and ever near,
Love and trust were always clear.
T'was with years, that slight hills grew;
But each one climbed, built love anew.

Then came a mountain, to be alone was right!
To chanllenge all things, and to test ones might.
Yet on this mountain, this mountain of strife,
Was nature's hand, and a way of life.

To love God's gifts and nature's ways,
Were part of each, through all their days.
So each autumn, of every year,
Two together, would draw near.

A field afar, A quarry true.
To match one's skills, and wisdom too,
Always pushing with and inner pride,
And all endured side by side.

Together again and yet alone,
Hear them saying in a silent tone.
A legend I am, at least to one.
This is my father; This is my son!
